Agronomy Notes

Another interesting spray season.  I was always told not to cuss rain but for a couple of weeks I was about to begin.  Never the less we got all the corn sprayed and most of the beans are sprayed.  Thank you for all of your patience with us when we were fighting to get the crop sprayed in between rain showers.

With all the rain and wind we should probably be thinking about a fungicide application on corn and beans.  I have noticed a lot of yellow looking beans and part of that is due to all the rain we have had.  With all the wind there has been a fair amount of corn either greensnapped or just blown over.  A lot of the corn will come back but it could possibly need a fungicide application.  If you have any questions about this give me a call.

Potato Leaf Hoppers are very thick in alfalfa this year.  After you cut your alfalfa we need to really watch for new regrowth.  If the alfalfa is 6 inches tall or so a foliar fertilizer application along with the insecticide has been a very nice boost for the alfalfa.

If you have any questions or comments please give me a call.  Thank you for your business.
